1 Scope

This part of ISO 10303 specifies the application module Integral shield. The following are within the scope of this part of ISO 10303:

layout of shields in interconnect design;
layout design using printed components;
external reference to a group of physical or layout components that are to be shielded;
external reference to a network node that is to be shielded;
layout design with specified requirements allocated to shields;
items within the scope of application module Layered interconnect module with printed component design, ISO/TS 10303-1700;
items within the scope of application module Requirement assignment, ISO/TS 10303-1233.

The following are outside the scope of this part of ISO 10303:

Design and layout of shields that are realized as physical components and not a part of an interconnect;
Evaluation of shielding effectiveness.
