Martin Hardwick

Dr. Martin Hardwick
President and CEO
Dr. Martin Hardwick founded and incorporated STEP Tools, Inc. in 1991. Dr. Hardwick supervises the Model Driven Intelligent Control of Manufacturing program, known as the "Super Model" Project, which is supported by an Advanced Technology Program (ATP) Award issued by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). This program is focused on developing STEP-NC, a breakthrough technology for manufacturing. Hardwick is also a Professor of Computer Science at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York, and is a Member of the US Product Data Association. Martin has authored numerous papers and articles on engineering database systems, STEP, PDES, and concurrent engineering. He has traveled internationally to present numerous public lectures on these topics. Dr. Hardwick is the team leader of the STEP Manufacturing group. He is currently working on two government projects: 1) the Harvest program from the National Shipbuilding Research Program, and the 2) WSME (Web-based Smart Modeling Environment) project for the U.S. Naval Sea Systems Command.

Dave Loffredo

Dr. Dave Loffredo

Dr. David Loffredo is a co-founder of STEP Tools, Inc. and serves as Vice President of Product Development. Dr. Loffredo has been developing software that supports the ISO 10303 STEP standard since 1988. He is currently developing the AP-238 integrated STEP-NC model. Loffredo is also Convenor of ISO TC184/SC4 Working Group 11, which develops the STEP implementation methods. He has contributed to the design of the STEP Data Access Interface (SDAI) functional specification, SDAI C, C++, and Java programming language bindings, as well as the STEP file exchange format. Dr. Loffredo received PhD and Master of Science degrees from Rensselaer, and Bachelor of Science degrees in Physics and Computer Science from the State University of New York. He has authored various technical papers and articles on EXPRESS, STEP, STEP-NC, concurrent engineering, product data exchange, and engineering database systems.
